Backside has paper label instructions. I'm wondering if this was never used. Might it have come in a flat box and gluing of the legs was to be done by the buyer, and this was indeed never done? There is no sign of glue ever being in the holes and it is a slight loose fit where glue would be necessary. The dark edge of the planchette doesn not have damage or repaired crack as I first thought. I'm quite sure it is an off-grade piece of wood. (should have been rejected?) *** Nice EARLY Board in Unusually Nice Condition *** CONDITION: Very good condition as seen. LL pic shows the worst spot. Board is flat and I see no scratching to the finish. Planchette has a shiny varnish finish and board has more or a flat sheen. My pic lighting wrongly makes the left and right edges appear darker.
