Description
Two side by side plots located in oldest section of Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Ca. Just past the Whittier Heights Mausoleum, the second oldest public mausoleum in California, and directly below the American Flag of the WWI Memorial, which was dedicated in 1921. These plots are located in beautiful Violet Lawn. More historical information on this most tranquil area can be found at this official Rose Hills link: http://www.rosehills.com/customerService/download/Tour-web.pdf/ When I took these pictures, though it was a Sunday afternoon, I was puzzled by the lack of visitors, and that for two hours I was left virtually alone in quiet contemplation at the graves of my grandparents. Eventually I realized that it was the age of these sites that accounted for so few visitors. The area itself is immaculate, with beautiful foliage and old majestic trees.
