Description
***Melody Stone*** ~~ Darling Buds of May ~~ ((( Super 7 Quartz Crystals )))  Amethyst, Smoky & Clear Quartz Crystals Rutile, Goethite, Cacoxenite, Lepidocrocite & Calcite  *Espirito Santo Region*   "Brazil " 8" x 4-1/2" inches wide x 2-1/2" inches tall 1280 Grams - 2.82 Pounds  I haven't precisely counted but there's approximately 200 crystals on this gorgeous plate of super 7 crystals that I call "The Darling Buds of May".  The cluster starts out as a green celadonite blue lace chalcedony agate matrix then develops a subsequent zone of icy clear quartz crystal with the smoky/amethyst super 7 crystals sitting on top.  On one side the majority of super 7 crystals have unique clear quartz masses in the center that look somewhat like haystacks of tiny glowing crystals inside with secondary zones of smoky/amethyst coloration forming the surface layers.  The crystal surfaces are heavily included with black pepper spots of goethite in tight groups which along with the clear quartz centers and smoky/amethyst exteriors are the predominant outward visual features on most of the individual crystals and in general the cluster as a whole.  However as shown in the high resolution photos there's also gorgeous sprays and nodules of golden cacoxenite, globules and splatters of blood red lepidocrocite and fine spun hairs of rutile included inside the crystals and that makes all seven. The opposite side of the cluster has an unusual zone of semi opaque pastel purple amethyst crystals with shimmering micro sparkles and a purpleish/white coating at the cluster's edge that appears to be calcium carbonate but could be feldspar, the effect is somewhat like glittering dayglo colors.  I've never seen anything quite like it but the pastel crystals appear to be super 7 included also but more difficult to discern.  The whole amazing thing is topped off with small double terminated power doubling calcite crystals forming mini clusters in combination with tiny chunks of golden cacoxenite that looks a lot like white apple blossoms with golden bee pollen centers completing "The Darling Buds of May". Super 7 Crystals  The super seven crystal is a combination of amethyst, smoky and clear quartz containing inclusions of lepidocrocite, goethite, rutile and cacoxenite which is known for producing a ethereal flambeau or lighted torch effect compared to "St. Elmos Fire" which produces visible electromagnetic waves above the mast of sailing ships, steeples, towers and treetops and on a small scale is similar to the aurora borealis effect of the northern lights.  The super seven stone was popularized by the author of "Love Is In The Earth" who goes by "Melody".         Super Seven Minerals     Goethite and Lepidocrocite are almost the same mineral as they are both oxides of Fe containing hydroxyl.  The two minerals are dimorphous, meaning they are quite often found mixed together as one composite mineral.   The bright red wavy fibers found in many super seven crystals appears to be a dimorphous combination of the two, however they do also occur individually in the stones.  Lepidocrocite quite often appears as red pepper spotting or large red dots.  Cacoxenite and goethite take many different forms and are at times difficult to distinguish from each other, but goethite is usually black.  They can both produce golden or black acicular sprays, roundish balls or visually undefined masses in a varied color range, however cacoxenite is most familiar in golden V shaped or oval sprays with somewhat reddish to black undertone, or at times bumpy to smooth roundish nodules or golden colored abstract masses.  Rutile comes in many colors and varies in quartz crystal from straight stick like inclusions to stringy fibers or grass like clumps to starbursts of shooting sprays or ultra fine hair like strands.  In super seven stones it usually occurs as light to dark colored fine spun threads and quite often has spots of red lepidocrocite or clumps of black goethite clinging to the surface.     Powered by eBay Turbo Lister Powered by eBay Turbo Lister
